Boredom at its finest

Have you ever felt so bored in your life? That is quite normal for people as they grow up. The things that have once interested them so much when they were young are almost penetrating into a boredom bubble. Of course, you may even not realize it at first because well, you may think of it as pure laziness. But, is it really?

Adolescent stage in life can be pretty tough. This is where you can have confusions, existential crisis, and even, depression. Well, at least, this is true to this decade. A lot of people, in fact, have taken their lives already.

Suicide. Suicide is never an answer to anything. But with the questions that a person can have at this stage of life, and nobody seemingly is up for answering or giving some kind of enlightenment, ending life and replacing question marks with periods can definitely be an appealing option. So, we cannot really blame those people who have committed such a horrible thing.

Suicide has been commonly associated with depression. This is because there have been a lot of people who did it to end their lives. And, when friends and families start to feel like a detective and try to solve the case, which is equivalent to answering questions as to why, what, and how, they get to realize that the person has actually been sending messages behind the jokes and smiles that they were showing everyone.

Most likely too that they are going to diagnose the person of suffering from depression. And that is only based on the Facebook posts of the person, or the tweets, or the Instagram captions. It’s kind of ironic though that only spend so much time with the person and care for him/her that much when it’s too late already.

Like, where were they when the person was still alive and waiting for people to reach out? Where were those “experts” in deciphering messages when the person was still alive and trying desperately to call for help while being low-key about it? Oh, but they are all there when it’s too late already.

You might ask, what if the person just reached out and be blunt when asking for help? Well, apparently, not everybody has been equipped with the knowledge of mental anguish and the ability to deal with it. The person may be afraid of showing or telling anybody about it because he/she is afraid that it might be the wrong person.

Wrong person means somebody who could not help them. Somebody who wouldn’t listen and understand. Somebody who might tell everyone else about it. And if you are about to ask, “What about talking to an expert then?” Well, ladies and gentlemen, that wouldn’t be as easy just thinking about it, nor is it as easy as typing it on a keyboard and suggesting the same to the person. It’s way harder than that.

You may even further ask, “What about his/her family? Doesn’t he/she trust his/her family enough to somehow tell them about it?” Well, this is just another silly suggestion just like everything else appears to be these days. Apparently, every one of us has got troubles of our own.  A person can be more aware of the same when it comes to his/her own family. This is ultimately the reason why he/she couldn’t tell anybody in his/her family about his thoughts and feelings.

As such, there is nobody else but himself/herself to confide thoughts with. But that is basically not telling anybody as well. Then, there comes the absolute answer, shining and shimmering in front of that person: Death. Although wishing for murder and homicide as the causes of the person’s death to end it all, some people might just want to take matters in their hand. The last thing that you want to do when you’re in this state really is to drag somebody else down with you.

So, instead of tagging people for your death, you would just opt for doing it on your own. It is more convenient that way.

But as much as possible, fight for it. There are certainly great things in life. You just have to continue living and surviving in order to get these. It might be a long journey ahead. So, you need to be brave and face each challenge.

You can do this. Dream, believe, survive.
